In support to the advocacy of the government to a drug-free workplace, DILG MIMAROPA voluntarily subjected its employees to a random drug testing on March 2019.
As part of the internal policy, 50% of the employees of the Regional Office must undergo random drug testing to establish a drug-free workplace.
The initiative was pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular 2018-213 that mandates government offices to establish and institutionalize drug-free workplace policies including the conduct of random drug testing.
In a total number of employees who undergo the drug testing at East Avenue Medical Hospital, Quezon City, all of them are tested drug-free.
The establishment of a drug-free workplace of the Region is also anchored on Regional order No. 2019-018 that specifies the Regional Drug-free Workplace Committee headed by Assistant Regional Director Noel R. Bartolabac, CESO V.
The committee is tasked to ensure the implementation of the drug-free workplace policy, adopt a continuing and sustainable substance abuse awareness and prevention programs, and monitor the office’s compliance to DDB Regulation No. 13 series of 2018.
