The DILG MIMAROPA through the Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) successfully conducted the โ€œRevisiting the Regional and Provincial Implementation of Locally Funded Projects (LFPs) in the MIMAROPA Region: 2024 Performance Review cum 4th Quarter PDMU Conferenceโ€ at Vista Marina Hotel & Resort, Olongapo City from November 20 to November 22, 2024.

The three-day event provided a comprehensive review of the status and financial reports of key programs under the DILG’s Locally Funded Projects (LFPs). Among the highlights were updates on the FY 2022-2024 Local Government Support Fund โ€“ Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU), the FY 2022-2024 LGSF-Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP), and the FY 2022-2024 LGSF- Growth Equity Fund (LGSF-GEF). Other significant topics included the status of the Support and Assistance Fund to Participatory Budgeting (SAFPB), the FY 2022 and FY 2023 RBME of LGU Infrastructure Projects (RLIP), financial performance, and updates on SubayBAYAN, an accountability monitoring platform.

DILG MIMAROPA Regional Director Karl Caesar Rimando, CESO III, delivered a strong message of encouragement to all participating Provincial Engineers, urging them to continue striving for excellence in the implementation of local projects. In his speech, RD Rimando emphasized the importance of teamwork and dedication to ensuring that the region continues to excel in national rankings, particularly in the SubayBAYAN initiative.

โ€œWe must work harder and smarter, with accountability and transparency at the forefront of everything we do, to ensure that MIMAROPA leads in the SubayBAYAN rankings,โ€ RD Rimando stated.

Meanwhile, OIC PDMU Chief Victorino Ibanez, Jr. reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to closely monitoring the implementation of all Locally Funded Projects and other infrastructure programs in the region.

The conference was also attended by Assistant Regional Director Rey Maranan, CESO IV; FAD Chief Atty. Pilipinas Baclayen; LGCDD Chief Ma. Teresita Iglesia; LGMED Chief Andrew Gonzalvo; and Provincial Directors, including Occidental Mindoro PD Juanito Olave, Jr., CESO V; Oriental Mindoro PD Ma. Victoria Del Rosario, CSEE; Marinduque PD German Yap, CESO V; Romblon PD Frederick Gumabol (represented by CH Syrna Flor Erpilua); Palawan PD Virgilio Tagle; Puerto Princesa City Director Eufracio Forones, Jr.; and Calapan City Director Ivan Stephen Fadri, CESE.
They assessed the ongoing projects and aligned strategies to equip MIMAROPA’s LGUs with the right tools and knowledge to successfully implement their respective infrastructure programs.
