The Department of the Interior and Local Government MIMAROPA Regional Office solemnly commemorated World AIDS Day 2025 with a two-part observance, beginning with an educational discussion led by LGOO II Armando P. Golifardo, the Regional Focal Person, who provided crucial information on HIV/AIDS prevention, awareness, and the vital need to combat stigma and discrimination against People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
Following this essential learning session, the office held a poignant Candle Lighting Ceremony, a powerful symbolic act designed both to respectfully commemorate the fallen victims of AIDS-related illnesses and to reinforce the DILG MIMAROPA’s commitment to be a guiding light in the ongoing fight to achieve the global goal of ending the AIDS epidemic.
