The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) MIMAROPA successfully kicked off the first day of SOAR HIGH MIMAROPA Retooling Activity held in the picturesque city of Vigan, Ilocos Sur, on Monday, March 11. Hosted by Attorney III Petrovich Tamag, Database Administrator Jay Marc Lavina and Information Officer II Brian Zagala, the opening ceremony set the tone for an engaging and enlightening event.

The said activity was spearheaded by Regional Director Karl Caesar Rimando, CESO III, Assistant Regional Director Rey Maranan, CESO IV, LGMED Chief Andrew Gonzalvo, LGCDD Chief Ma. Teresita Iglesia and FAD Chief Atty. Pilipinas Baclayen.

In attendance were provincial and city directors, as well as Local Government Operations Officers (LGOOs) and administrative personnel from the region.

In his welcome message, Director Rimando emphasized the unique opportunity for LGOOs to sharpen their skills and deepen their knowledge in key areas of local governance.

β€œTayo ay nandito para sabay-sabay na matuto, mag-aral, at bigyang pagkilala ang ating mga kasama. Our HRD week covers three (3) of the four (4) HR systems: Performance Management, Learning and Development, and Rewards and Recognition; hence, despite our limited resource, we cannot forgo this kind of activity,” Director Rimando said.

Following Director Rimando’s message, FAD Chief Pilipinas Baclayen provided an in-depth overview of the activity.

As the first day concluded, the stage was set for an impactful and productive retooling activity that promises to inspire positive change and innovation in the region’s local governance landscape.
