The Capacity Development Facility of the MIMAROPA Local Governance Resource Center engaged in an exploratory meeting with the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning Training and Extension Services for an exciting partnership ahead which will focus on the analysis of the local development planning capacity needs of the MIMAROPA Local Government Units.

LGOO VI Jackelyn C. Manalon, LGOO V Reianne Mae P. Maranan, and LGOO IV Chelsea Coleen V. Tamayo had a fruitful discussion with UP SURP led by Dean Dina C. Magnaye, Training and Extension Services Director Kristine Follosco-Aspiras, and her team composed of Arlene D.R. Santiago, Jade S. Agapinan, Richelle G. Escolar, and Dalia T. Macatangay last January 31, 2024.

Various insights on improving the local development planning system in the region were shared including existing challenges faced by the LGUs and possible interventions that can be developed through the partnership.

The partnership aims to continue the effort of the MIMAROPA LGRC in mainstreaming evidence-based capacity development provision and strengthening the CapDev Ecosystem in the region.
