The DILG MIMAROPA, through its Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), conducted an inspection of various projects funded under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) and data updating in the SubayBAYAN system in the Province of Occidental Mindoro.

The activity was led by Regional Director Karl Caesar R. Rimando CESO III and Provincial Director Juanito D. Olave CESO V along with DILG Provincial Engineers Keana S. Zulueta, Engr. Elyza P. Arbo, DILG MIMAROPA Engr. Farah Kristine L. Lucas, Financial Analyst Jeverly Anne Chaste P. Halili, and Project Evaluation Officers Donna Mariene Eugenio and Mikaela Jean Mendezabal. They evaluated the following projects:
– Purchase of vehicle Disaster Equipment/Vehicle for Disaster Response and Rescue Activities (Fire Truck)
Status: COMPLETED

Beneficiaries: Over 3,000 residents in disaster-prone areas in the municipality of Magsaysay now have improved fire and emergency response capability. The inspection confirmed that the vehicle is fully operational and properly stationed.
– Concreting of local road connecting Sta. Teresa Proper to Sta. Teresa Port, Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro
Status: 100% completed (as of March 10, 2025)

Beneficiaries: Approximately 1,500 residents and local farmers are benefitting from better access to markets and reduced travel time. The team found the road to be well-constructed and currently in heavy use by the community.
– Electrification in Indigenous People (IP) communities in Brgy. Pinagturilan
Status: 5% physical accomplishment (as per RPMES Form 2)

Beneficiaries: Around 200 households in IP communities. Project consist of a total of twenty seven (27) units of Solar powered streetlights, Three (3) powerhouse with thirty (30) units of Solar Polyvoltatic Panels 550 watts and three (3) units of Hybrid Inverter 48vdc to generate electricity at household.
– Construction of Farm-to-Market Road with Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert (RCBC) in Barangay Barahan
Status: COMPLETED

Beneficiaries: More than 600 farming households now have improved access to the municipal center, which is expected to boost agricultural productivity and reduce post-harvest losses. Inspection findings showed the culvert effectively mitigates flooding during heavy rains.

The inspection reinforced the importance of continued monitoring and coordination with LGUs to ensure timely completion and quality implementation.
