The DILG MIMAROPA conducted the Strengthening Health and Responsiveness for the Protection (SHARP) of LGUs on October 14-17, 2024 at the Swiss-Belhotel Blulane, 609 Tomas Mapua St, Santa Cruz, Manila.

This is the second capacity development initiative under the Regional Institutional Development Support (RIDS) Program, following the Financial Administration and Sustainability Training (FAST) for MIMAROPA LGUs held at the Sotogrande Hotel Katipunan, Quezon City last October 7-9.

The SHARP LGUs activity, with support from the Center for Health Development MIMAROPA headed by Regional Director Mario S. Baquilod, MD, MPH, CESO IV, provided a platform for LGUs to level-off with the DOH to discuss latest Health Compliance and Responsiveness (HCR) indicators which could help LGUs in delivering appropriate health services and potentially increasing their compliance with the HCR Governance Area.

Fifty-three (53) participants from the 18 target LGUs composed of Local Health Officers, personnel from the Local Health Offices, Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Focal Persons attended the activity.

Before the activity ended, DILG MIMAROPA Assistant Regional Director Rey S. Maranan, CESO IV emphasized the value of the RIDS programa and the region’s steadfast commitment to good local governance and endeavor for excellence.
