With the continuing efforts to heighten the advocacy on anti illegal drugs in the country, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) MIMAROPA in partnership with the City Government of Puerto Princesa successfully conducted the “BIDA Ka, Puerto Princesa: A Celebration of PPC’s Milestone on Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign” held on February 24, 2024.
The BIDA Program Activity was spearheaded by Regional Director Karl Caesar R. Rimando, CESO III, Assistant Regional Director Rey S. Maranan, CESO IV, Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron represented by City Administrator Atty. Arnel M. Pedrosa, NAPOLCOM MIMAROPA Regional Director Aileen Arcin, PDEA MIMAROPA Regional Director Christian Frivaldo, PRO MIMAROPA Regional Director PBGen Roger Quesada and DILG Puerto Princesa City Director Eufracio Forones, Jr.
In his message, Director Rimando commended the City Government of Puerto Princesa for championing BIDA Program’s objectives.
“Ang Puerto Princesa ang isa sa mga lungsod na nangunguna sa ating KALINISAN program. Ang inyo rin pong lungsod ay naideklara bilang insurgency- free at bukod pa riyan, kahapon lamang po ang 66 na mga barangay po ninyo ay naideklarang drug-free. Kaya BIDA kayong lahat, dito sa Puerto Princesa,” Director Rimando said.
More than 3,000 runners and riders participated in the said activity, including barangay officials of PPC, youth organizations, city government employees, CSOs, BJMP, BFP, WESCOM, TOW WEST, PCG and DOH.
