The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) MIMAROPA successfully hosted the Philippine Local Governance Forum (PLGF) Luzon Island Circuit with a theme, โLocal Governance Breakthroughs,โ held at the Kalayaan Hall, SM Aura Tower, Taguig City on October 28, 2024.
The forum, organized in partnership with the Local Government Academy (LGA) and all Luzon Local Governance Regional Resource Centers (LGRRCs), was attended by local chief executives and representatives from various local government units (LGUs) from Regions I to V, NCR, CAR and MIMAROPA as well as their partner LRIs and CSOs. Also present were DILG Assistant Secretary for Local Government Atty. Jesi Howard Lanete, DILG MIMAROPA Assistant Regional Director Rey S. Maranan, CESO V, DILG R3 Regional Director Atty. Anthony Nuyda, CESO III, DILG NCR Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez, CESO IV, DILG R2 Assistant Regional Director Elpidio Durwin, CESO IV, and DILG R4A Regional Director Darrell I. Dizon, CESO V, LGA Research and Policy Division Chief Leah Marie Sanchez and Taguig City 1st District Councilor Atty. Raul Aquino.

These narratives served to inspire collaboration among LGUs as they navigated challenges and opportunities in governance. The event emphasized the importance of promoting dialogue, sharing best practices, and identifying actionable solutions to critical local governance issues.
In his closing message, ARD Maranan emphasized the value of collaboration in knowledge sharing to advance good governance. โ

He concluded by urging attendees to embody the principles discussed during the forum.

The Philippine Local Governance Forum is held annually to encourage local governments to collaborate, innovate, and address the challenges faced by their communities, ultimately working towards improved public service and community engagement across the region.
