The DILG Office of the Project Development Services (OPDS) in partnership with the DILG MIMAROPA kicked-off the two-day orientation for DILG Regional Offices on the Implementation of India- Quick Impact Project (I-QIP) in Local Government Units held at Sequoia Hotel, Quezon City on Thursday, October 26.
On February 7, 2023, the Government of the Republic of India and the Philippines signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the I-QIP that will grant the latter an amount of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand US Dollars (US$250,000) as assistance in the implementation of small projects for socio-economic development and creation or improvement of physical and social infrastructures in the country.
The activity aims to give guidance on the salient features and components of I-QIP and familiarize the DILG ROs on their roles and responsibilities pertaining to the management and implementation of the said project.
In attendance were Undersecretary for Local Government, USec. Marlo Iringan, CESO III, Undersecretary for External, Legal, and Legislative Affairs, USec. Atty. Juan Victor R. Llamas, Assistant Secretary for Plans and Programs, ASec. Francisco Cruz, CESO III, DILG OPDS Director Alfonso Maralli, Jr., CESO IV, Assistant Director Rene V. Valera, DILG MIMAROPA Regional Director Karl Caesar Rimando, CESO III, various DILG Regional Directors, Regional Local Government Capacity Development Division (LGCDD) Chiefs, and Regional Project Development and Management Units (RPDMU) Chiefs.
